Start from Bourg d’Oisans

Official start area

The Marmotte begins in Bourg d’Oisans before heading towards the great Alpine climbs. The key to the day is energy management.

Collecting your bike at Vieil Alpe before the event gives time for saddle height, pedals and last checks.

Do not start too hard.
Check pedals, saddle height and braking.
Keep enough energy for the final climb.

Glandon, Télégraphe, Galibier and Lautaret

High mountain route

The Marmotte is famous for its long sequence of Alpine climbs. Glandon, Télégraphe and Galibier make it a true endurance challenge.

Comfort, braking, tyre choice and stable descending behaviour are essential.
